This verse reads quite differently in the Hebrew Masoretic text compared with our Greek Septuagint source. Here’s how it appears in the one Hebrew-based Bible:
‘Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine?
But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door.
It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.’
As you can see, it’s very different from the version in our Bible. So which version is correct?
We don’t know.
Our Bible uses older manuscripts than most Bibles do. Check us out!
