MordecAi appears to be a Babylonian name, and possibly means City of Marduk, or just Marduka (see the Wikipedia reference Mordecai).
Although it might seem unlikely that an IsraElite would bear the name of a pagan god, the Babylonians and Persians often renamed people when they appointed them as officials.
