1 Peter 2:8 Quoting Isaiah 8:14
In 1 Peter 2:8, Peter quotes Isaiah 8:14.
However, the Septuagint version of Isaiah 8:14 says the opposite of what Peter quoted!
So what’s going on?
It seems that Peter was quoting from a different version of Isaiah than what we find in the Septuagint today.
He may have been quoting a now-lost Hebrew or Aramaic Bible, or at least, an older and more accurate edition of the Septuagint.
